WHAT IS GRANITE?
Granite is a natural material that has unique colors and patterns. It is extracted from the earth's crust, where it is cut into large blocks, which are subsequently adapted to the worktop size. Then it gets raw worktop edge grinding and surface treatments - and can be customized with details and finishes. Because granite is a natural material, you can expect to have a tabletop with its own look, because the patterns in the stone are natural and unique to your particular worktop.
The advantages of the granite worktop
- Robust and durable
- Raw, organic expression
- Durable for decades
A granite worktop is easy to maintain - just wipe the worktop with a wrinkled cloth once a day to prevent it from splashing from liquid and food residue. If the dirt is more stubborn than what ever water and grease can handle, granite can also withstand harder cleaning products as long as they are not too acidic (low PH) or contain bleach.
MAINTENANCE OF YOUR GRANITE WORKTOP
Although granite is a very robust material, you should use a cutting base when cutting vegetables and others. Otherwise, you can damage your knives - and the worktop will also lose its luster while increasing the risk of stains.
Granite is very heat resistant, but we recommend that you use worktops for hot dishes - then you are also sure that the worktop does not damage the dishes and the raw bottom of the pots.
To prevent the worktop from sucking fluid and getting stains, you should impregnate your worktop. If you have a light worktop, waterproofing once a year is enough - and with dark worktops you can make use of a treatment every two years.
WHICH WORKTOP SHOULD I CHOOSE?
There are a wealth of different materials to choose from when it comes to worktops.
