MADE WITH CARE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION

KVIK WILL BE CO2-NEUTRAL IN 2022

We are ambitious with everything we do. We are constantly thinking new to be able to live up to our mission to deliver high quality Danish design at surprisingly low prices. Our work on sustainability follows the same template. We are working hard to become smarter, improve and achieve the goal of CO2 neutrality by 2022, and from there we will improve even more.

The initiatives and changes we have already implemented have reduced our CO2 emissions by more than 60%. We will continue to evolve and ensure that our kitchens are designed and manufactured with care for future generations. Our ambition for 2020 is to reduce CO2 emissions by a further 24%.

DESIGNED TO HOLD

We deliver timeless Danish design in high quality materials from responsible sources. Our comprehensive warranties reflect our belief in long-lasting products. In our kitchens, design and function go up in a higher unit, so the heart of your home is the sustainable choice that you can use and enjoy for many years.

TRANSPORTED UNTIL

Our efficient transport concept is the key. We assemble our kitchens in the store closest to you instead of assembling them at the factory. We can transport 4 times as many kitchens on each truck when they are delivered unassembled in flat packs, and this reduces CO2 emissions.

OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

We never rest on our laurels, so we are constantly optimizing our processes in the pursuit of our goals. Some steps are easier than others, but we work every day to make Kvik more sustainable.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Since 2019, our factory and office have exclusively used renewable energy, and all light sources have been replaced with LED. It has reduced our energy consumption considerably.

We have been using certified wood since 2013. We want to support sustainable forestry and have decided to use only certified wood in our kitchen, bathroom and wardrobe solutions from 2021.

RECYCLED MATERIALS

We strive to use only sustainable materials, preferably recycled materials. By the end of 2021, all of our foil-coated fronts are made from recycled plastic (PET). This makes us the kitchen brand that uses the most recycled materials. This means that every year we transform 10.5 million plastic bottles into long-lasting products.

A GOOD PLACE TO WORK

We want to be a good workplace measured in terms of employee satisfaction, equality and, of course, security. Today, 85% of our employees would recommend us as an employer, and we work hard to reach our goal of 95%. We give safety a very high priority. In 2019, we had four minor incidents, and we are working hard to reach our goal of 0 accidents in production by 2022.

SELF-SUPPLY WITH HEAT

We have invested in an incinerator that converts our wood waste into heat. This means that we are self-sufficient in heat for production and head office. It has been an important piece in reducing our CO2 emissions.

OUR SUPPLIERS

We want not only a good working environment for our own employees, but also for our suppliers' employees. Our code of ethics sets high standards for fair pay, working environment, gender equality and much more. In 2019, 100% of our suppliers signed our code of conduct, and in 2020 we will introduce audits to confirm their commitment.

KVIK AND THE UN'S WORLD GOALS

The UN's 17 World Goals for Sustainable Development constitute a plan to achieve 'a better and more sustainable future for all'. At Kvik, we focus on four specific goals, and we are determined to change the way we do business with consideration for the next generation.

In Kvik, we focus on the following world goals:

  • Goal 8 : Decent jobs and economic growth
